One Piece, Several Items or a Whole Move?

You can ask for help moving a single heavy item, a group of furniture pieces or the contents of a home. You do not need a full-house move to request furniture moving help.

Start with the pieces you want moved rather than the number of rooms in your home. For example, a couch going to another address is a different request from that same couch moving to an upstairs room. The item is the same, but the destination, access and work you need can differ. This is an example of how to describe a request, not a past customer job.

For a whole-home move, include the other belongings you want moved too. A furniture-only list and a full-home list describe different amounts of work, even when both start at the same address.

Photos help show which item you mean. Include dimensions and weight when you know them; if you do not know, say so. Naming an item category alone leaves out details needed to review your particular request.

Where Are the Items Going?

Furniture moving can take items to a different address, bring a purchase home from a store, or move pieces within the same home or building. Tell us which kind of move you need and where each piece should end up.

For a different address, share both pickup and destination locations. For a store purchase, include the store and the delivery address. For a move within a building, name the starting and final rooms or floors, even though the street address stays the same.

Moving furniture you are keeping and removing unwanted furniture for disposal are separate requests. If you need both, identify which pieces should reach a new spot and which should be taken away.

What Details Help Review the Job?

Send the item list and quantities, photos or a walkthrough video, known dimensions and weight, pickup and destination addresses, and your preferred date. Describe stairs or elevators and access at both ends. If part of the access is unknown, flag it for review.

Tell us which furniture tasks you want included, such as disassembly and reassembly, wrapping, carrying on stairs, loading and unloading, or placement. Describe the work you need for each piece so we can review it with the item and access details.

When comparing quotes, use the same item list, destination, access and requested tasks. A price for moving one couch to a ground-floor room does not describe the same work as a request that also includes more pieces or a different final floor.
